This is a future racing boat concept for my marine theory class. I created a trimaran with a surface-piercing propeller as propulsion. With the trimaran configuration, it can have both the advantage of the monohull and catamaran. Also, I created it as a two-person craft as I imagine the future boat racing are gonna be long range and rough like modern day off-road rally racing, so it may need a driver and a guide.
This is project for my “Commercial Practices for Industrial Design”. We partnered with Pediatric Innovation and being assigned a design challenge to redesign the “cocoon” for children in order to prevent CLABSI. “Cocoon” is a piece designed by nurses that covers the catheter of the central line.
From my research, I discovered that the main reason why children are having CLABSI is because the fact that they are using central line for adults. The adult central line’s lumen is too long for children which allows the catheter to drag on floors or end up in other places and get contaminated.
Therefore I came up with an retractable lumen idea which allows the lumen and catheter to stay away from contaminates. Also, with a sealed housing which would further prevent children from pulling or playing around with the central line.
This is a multi-functional lamp concept which allows people to pick up and use it outdoor like a lantern or act as a normal ceiling lamp indoor.
It uses magnets to allow it to stay on the base. Also, it uses wireless charging technology to charge the battery in the lamp. The handle can be split and act as a stand when users want to put it down and light up an outdoor space when it is in lantern mode
